Citibank Platinum Credit Card
Has received a Citibank Platinum credit card today while I back from lunch. Call to Citibank officer and telling me that this is an auto-upgrade card for me (from Citibank Gold to Platinum) but I’m just wonder why the credit limit is not increase(what’s the point to upgrade)?
Trying to googling about the benefits and features before I’m agree to upgrade and activate this Citibank Platinum card (Annual Fee cost RM 600!).
The most attractive features for me was only the FREE access to KLIA (and other countries) Plaza Premium Lounge. As a Citibank Platinum cardholder, you can enjoy this complimentary access to KLIA Plaza Premium for up to 2 hours per visit while you are waiting for boarding. And also, you will enjoy the complimentary facility:
- Massage chair
- Shower with amenities
- Free Internet access & local calls
- FREE FLOW of beers
- Meals & Beverages
All this facilities listed above are totally free, but sadly the Citibank office told me that this card is offer only TWO access per calendar year for FREE and the subsequent entry will be charge a cost (not sure how much yet, will find it out soon).
Anyway, Citibank Platinum also offer a 5x rewards point system for your purchase (Spend RM 1 and get 5 points) but only limited to selected departments store, supermarket and hypermarket as below:

The 5x rewards point only applied to the maximum RM 3000 of total spent on every billing cycle month, spend above RM 3000 will counted as normal reward points which RM 1 entitled to get 1 point.
Other benefits:
- 20% discount off selected purchases at Coffee Bean – valid until August 2011
- FREE entry to Zouk from tuesday to saturday before midnight(12am)
- 15% on all hard liquor at Zouk, Velvet Undergroud, Aristo, Phuture, Bar Sonic & Terrace Bar.
Was still struggling whether wants to upgrade from Gold to Platinum card due to the expensive annual fee (i’m still having an installment plan for OGAWA massage chair in Citibank MasterCard Gold), and OCBC Titanium/Maybankard 2 Amex do offer more benefits than this (but both doesn’t offer FREE access to KLIA Lounge).
First year annual fee will be waived if you swipe the card 3 times after approval date.
