Citibank has revamped and enhanced the features of Citibank Shell Gold Credit Card which offer cash rebates benefit up to 8% on Shell fuel at any Shell stations nationwide in Malaysia.

Citibank Shell Gold (CSG) is encouraging you to combine all your spending into a single card to reach maximum 8% of cash rebates of fuel.

The rate of cash rebates is based on your monthly total spending (dining, travelling, bills, groceries) and determine how much the cash rebate you can earn from Shell fuel spending.

There’s a three tier structure of the cash rebates on spending which capped on the maximum spending of Shell fuel that eligibly for Cash Rebates.

The below is the Cash Rebates Tier table:

The 8 % cash rebate rate is entitled for a monthly total spending of RM 2500 or above and maximum capped of fuel spending at RM 800. If you have a monthly total spending less than RM 2500, you get lower rate for 6% or even 4%).

You earn RM 64 from RM 800 or above on Shell fuel spending, and RM 1700 or above on other spending. As a conclude, the maximum rebates you can earn from spending is ONLY RM 64 even if you spent RM 10,000 per month.

For the successful application on Citibank Shell Gold credit card, you will get FREE 1 year annual fee and:

1. RM 50 cash back (swipe your card 3 times within 60 days of the approval date),  T&C applied.
2. Addtional RM 30 cash back if you sign up for a Balance Transfer(don’t know what is BT, click HERE) or Card Protection Permier(CPP) plan.
3. Stand a chance to win a FREE GPS Bay device woth RM 799 ( for every 20th approved card, while stock last).

**All these above offers (1-3) are only applicable to new Citibank customers only.

Compare with the Citbank Cash Back Platinum(CBP), CBP is more valuable and earning more cash rebates if your monthly spending is huge.

Anyway, Citibank Shell Gold Card is an alternative card to Citibank Cash Back Platinum if you are eligible to apply for CBP (the requirement is higher than CSG), but it still earn you some rebates money on spending.
